Possibilities Reimagined

This project explores what the Amtrak experience might evolve into.  Train cars have more space and less restrictions than air travel, so options for amenities and comfort variation are more achievable.

Goals

Autonomous Retail

When traveling, people often need to stock up on the supplies they run out of or forget.  Using a self-serve automated process, a passenger can pick out the goods they want on their phone or a Kiosk and have them delivered via conveyor.

Diner and Lounge

Replacing the steel-clad dining car, this upgraded experience aims to serve fresh meal options using a delivery system inspired by sushi conveyors in Japan.  In addition, an inviting café car provides a relaxing social atmosphere for passengers.

Peace and Comfort

For a first-class upgrade, the lounge car provides space to kick your feet up and relax.  This atmosphere is tailored specifically for comfort so passengers can stay refreshed, read a book, or catch a catnap on a longer day trip.

Private and Secure

To give travelers peace of mind, the sleeper car provides a secure and private place to rest.  The bedrooms, lavatories and sleep pods all lock securely from the inside and are only accessible by the traveler who reserved them.

Fitness En Route

For many, a daily fitness routine is an important part of health and wellness.  A gym car provides an enticing health incentive for passengers trying to choose between rail and air travel.
